For nitriding, nitro-carburizing tempering and annealing processes

The Low pressure nitriding allows to realize the traditional nitriding and nitro-carburizing processes, that usually must be done with a process’ pressure more than 1300 absolute mbar, with a process’ pressure of 200-300 absolute mbar in the treatment chamber.

The use of this particular treatment guarantees some important advantages:
– More controlled preliminary preoxidizing treatments;
– Heat treatment process less influenced by the pieces’ surface;
– Process uniformity in all the parts of the pieces, especially in the pieces’ holes;
– Possibility to do the cooling in pressure for improving, in some cases enormously, the surface hardness of the pieces;
– Equipments automatically controlled and of easy handling;
– Possibility to do very easily the treatment on stainless steels and special steels;
– Possibility to do the post-oxidizing during the treatment, obtaining pieces with a perfect blueing;
– Reduction of nitriding gas quantity and minor environmental impact.

Special equipments like APEV furnaces can satisfy all the safety exigencies. They have not the retort (muffle) and are cold wall furnaces. The APEV can be used also for annealing treatment till 850°C, tempering in pressure and in vacuum.
